A refreshingly quirky comedy, All About Steve is an awesome movie, for all those Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper fans out there who were desperate to see the pair together. An all set to enthral movie is a one of its kind and a must watch movie of 2009.

Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church and Hollywood heartthrob Sandra Bullock, together in a hilarious comedy packs everything sure to make you enthralled. The movie plot centring around, Sandra playing the part of a cruciverbalist- a crossword puzzle constructor, who after just one single short date with Church who is a CNN cameraman decides that he is her true love, her love of the life. The story runs around her trying to convince the man by attending media events taking place at different arenas in the country just to tell him and convince him that they are perfect couples made for each other. The blind date making Mary (Sandra) think that the chemistry between them is undeniable and makes her fall for him completely by not even stopping her from doing anything and going anywhere, and to any extent to get him. Mary in all this confusion and mess lands up in a different place and how she discovers her true place, is the real theme the movie circles around.

A great movie by Phil Traill , the cast of All About Steve consists of Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church, Ken Jeong, Bradley Cooper, Howard Hesseman, DJ Qualls, Katy Mixon and others.

This is Rated as PG-13, by MPAA for the sexual content including innuendos the movie showcases. A movie illustrating Mary’s idiosyncrasies, is an oddly, creepy movie which features an actress who is so desperate and peculiar as Sandra Bullock that the audiences will be laughing loud by the great entertainer they will say in the form of All About Steve, a movie all set to make place amongst the top-chart in this years creations.

Most of us remember GI Joe from the toys we used to play with when we were kids and the cartoons we used to see. This childhood memory has been brought to life in a superb movie. The movie begins with a scot man named Klan McCullen has been accused of selling weaponry to both the Scots and French. As punishment they decide to brand him with a white mask in order to humiliate him. The next scene, In the near future a scientist named James McCullen created a weapon which can destroy entire cities.

Duke and Ripcord are delivering the warheads to NATO when they are attacked by the Baroness. Duke and Ripcord are rescued by Scarlett who is their ally. They take the warheads to The Pit in North Africa, and upon arriving rendezvous with General Hawk the head of the G.I. Joe Team. Hawk takes command of the war-heads and excuses Duke and Ripcord. McCullen is revealed to be using the same technology in order to take over the world. McCullen uses GPS tracking to locate the warheads and sends his henchmen to retrieve it and give it the baron. The baron DeCobray wants to show the entire world the power of his warheads by destroying the Eiffel tower, but his plot fails due to the intrusion of the Duke, but Duke is captured and taken to McCullen’s secret base in the arctic. G.I. Joe locates the secret base, and Scarlett attempt’s to shut down the base. During the attack Rex along with McCullen activate the self destruct mechanism of the base in order to escape. The world is saved by GI Joe.
The overall impact of the movie was excellent with great graphics and a nice story line. The directors hint at a sequel to the movie in the end, which helps captivate the viewers. In conclusion I would like to say that this movie is one of the best releases this year and I personally cannot wait for the sequel.
My score- 8.5/10.

Among the list of comedies another hilarious movie makes its appearance on the silver screen. “Extract”, is a pleasant movie with affable characters and some really funny moments. Director Mike Judge has done total justice to all the characters by creating a humorous movie and using very life-like situations.

The Movie revolves around Joel, who is the owner of an Extract Company and has problems both on his business and home front. Sued by an injured worker named Step, a wife he cannot go to bed with and the most annoying neighbor anyone could ever have, his life is a complete mess. Just then Joel’s bartender friend, Dean comes up with a brilliant plan, so that Joel is not guilty cheating his wife for a new hotty Cindy, who works in his factory. Well, a male gigolo is hired to sleep with Joel’s wife. But the least you can expect with Mike Judge’s story and direction, this is a happily ever after, turn of events.

The cast of the movie which is completely apt for all the sociable characters include- Jason Bateman (Joel), Kristen Wiig (Suzie), Mila Kunis (Cindy), Ben Affleck (Dean), JK Simmons (Brian), Clifton Collins Jr. (Step), David Koechner (Nathan), Beth Grant (Mary), Dustin Milligan (Brad) and Gene Simmons (Joe).

This 1 hour 31 minutes comedy has been given an R rating due to the use of some sexual references, offensive language and use of drugs, which describes, that viewers under 18 should watch it only under the guidance of adults. Rated 3 on a scale of 5, this is sure to completely enthrall the audiences.

The movie is packed with all of Mike’s directorial traits- his timing, his tone and his unique style. The characters in the movie are very real and with their amiable qualities you are sure to fall in love with them. Extract with its light and funny scenes will surely make your weekend filled with laughter and savvy comedy. All the characters are very easy to relate to, because of their common man identity. Watch this to bring back the smile on your face.

Broken Embraces, a movie about illicit love, comedy, dark secrets and self-reflexive cinephalia, is another of Almodovar’s extraordinary creation, illustrating his cinematic personality. A film that combines comedy, melodrama and secrets, is an ode to cinema for its ability to capture and immortalize beauty. 
A rather perplexing experience to begin with, the film encircles Mateo who is a blind screenwriter now and the flashback which showcases Mateo Blanco’s life as a film director and his love affair with Lena, the other star. Lena who is Ernesto’s mistress in the movie, is a financer for Mateo’s film and during this film making, they get close and start spending time together. Then Ernesto’s son, after a 14 year long period, takes the stage, by following his father’s instruction to follow the two, and film a making of a doc. Thus, making a film appear within another, a concept which is head-spinning sophisticated and keeps the director’s sheer energy, appear fresh and alive truly. 
Almadovar, who has always managed to bring together elegance and exuberance, does the same in his latest classic, “Broken Embraces”, which is a rich, enjoyable piece of work. An excellent cast which has worked up to the expectations of the audiences, Penelope Cruz (Lina), Louis Homar (Mateo Blanco), Blanca Portfolio (Judit), José Luis Gomez (Ernesto Marte) play as the leading cast. 
Broken Embraces, a deeply invigorating, impressive and tragic film, like other of Almodovar’s creations, redefines relationship and situations and is an elegantly made movie. The action unfolding two eras: flashback and present day, gives a pleasure which is pure and all set to leave a memory for lifetime.  
The movie with 4 stars review has been rated R for the language, sexual content and usage of some drugs, which for below the 18 years of age viewers should be watched only under Parental Guidance.

A thoroughly enjoyable and outright entertaining movie, District-9 is a ingeniously done, totally engaging sci-fi movie. Filmed as a documentary and made by a modest budget of just over $30 million, this is an awesome effort to tell us an actual story.

The film surmises around aliens which hovered over Johannesburg in Africa, 28 years from now, in sickly malnourished condition, and were called “prawns” because of their look depicting a cross between grasshoppers and shrimps. These leaderless and starving aliens after evacuation were given an eponymous area and were quarantined from the city in a slum referred as “District-9 or D-9”. The film featuring the most dyspotian vision of alien contact ever shown, it shows that the aliens are not the enemy rather the humans are!

Directed by a South African director Neill Blomkamp and starring mainly South Africans, the cast of the film consist of Sharlto Copley (Wikus), Jason Cope (Christopher Johnson), David James (Koobus), Vanessa Haywood (Tania) and Louis Minnaar (Piet Smit).

District 9 rated “R” for the bloody violence and pervasive swearing language in the inter-planet denizens requires parents company to watch, for all those under 17.

Everything about the film being ridiculously awesome, this features most incredible CG creatures ever created in a movie before and is an intransigent mockumentary which contains every gist enough to satisfy geeks and drooling fanboys alike and also comes out as one of its kind in years for casual viewers to experience a ride of a frolic roller-coaster.

The stylishly updated renovation by Dennis Illadias, as “The Last House on the Left” is the most blatant thrillers of all time. Set during World War II, Quentin Tarantino has once proven his greatness as a director. Although the title of the movie was taken from a movie shown in the 1978, it was not a remake but rather a fresh approach on the event that transpired during the year of Nazi’s occupation. It aimed on killing Hitler by being Basterds, comprised of soldiers that are Jewish American in descent. In watching the movie, it can be seen that there is some sort of violence that is attached to it so parental guidance is needed. Apparently, the movie is all about getting what one had sown. Inglourious Basterds reflects revenge. For all the bad and terrible things that the Nazis have committed against the Jews and other civilians, the Basterds made a revenged by attacking the former and scalping their head. A gruesome form of revenge but as much as fear is concerned, the Basterds will surely equate the degree of fear that the Nazis have spread all over Germany and France.

All in all, the movie is great in such a way that it depicted the real events during World War II. The characters portrayed their roles as well. There has been a good selection of artists that played all the important roles and have delivered good acting prowess that made the scenes very appalling to the people. A mixture of laughter, tears and drama; Inglourious Basterds is a movie to watch for. Aside from being a good source of historical information on World War II, the movie exudes a nationalistic and patriotic feeling that will surely bring the audience back to loving its one own country.

My rating: 7/10 only because of the violence. But nonetheless, it is a movie to watch for by those that are into history.

The harry potter movie franchise has been running successfully for almost 8 years, and recently they released their 6th movie . Harry potter movies have had a hard run during their past two movies, with director changes and not being able to deliver.
Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts begins with a scene depicting the death eaters destroying London, to announce their return to the entire world. The spot of defense against dark arts was left open through the vacation due to the absence of Umbridge; Snape gets his wish and takes up the vacant spot. Harry along with Dumbledore goes out on a mission to recruit a retired potions teacher named Horace Slughorn. During Harry’s first potions class he finds a potions book which belonged to the “Half Blood Prince”, with the help of which he becomes one of the best potions student (causing envy in Hermione). Dumbledore appoints the task of gaining a few strands of memory from Slughorn, which he accomplishes in the end. The concept of a horcrux is introduced to Harry and the danger of which is explained. Dumbledore explains that he already has three of the horcrux’s in his possession and needs Harry’s help for the next one. In the course of obtaining the horcrux he lowers his defense and when they return to the castle they find that Malfoy has betrayed everyone in the castle by bringing in the death eaters. Malfoy has been given the task of killing Dumbledore but he is too weak to do so, causing Snape to do the unthinkable by killing Dumbledore. The movie ends with a heart touching tribute paid by everyone to Dumbledore.
The actors have grossly outgrown their characters and I think it is time to change them. Their acting has been up to the mark with some on screen chemistry between Ron and Hermione being shown.
In conclusion I would like to say that the movie has been far better than the past few, and the directing was wonderful. The movie sticks to the story and only depicts the main points from the book, which is very sensible. In conclusion I would like to say that this movie is a good way to spend 2 hours with your kids or your friends.
My score-8/10.

Bandslam, the name itself striking a chord is a plot about a teen rock band. So-called glimpse of Slam Dunk , its better because it has to do something with a rock band. With its origins in the High School Musical Genre, its a story about a teenager (Will), obsessed with music and his struggle to guide a group through Bandslam , a battle of the bands.

A movie about music, high school, teenagers, iniquity and fitting-in, is something which depicts the tough walk of the band lead by Will to making leaps and bounds of improvement and later on being christened as “I Can’t Go On, I’ll Go On.” The other interesting fact is showcased as Will falling for Sa5m and the story depicting their cute teenager love arena.

The all-new enticing real life musician and singers cast adding more reality and authenticity to the story-line, consists of; Vanessa Hudgens (Sa5m) , Gaelan Connell (Will), Scott Porter (Ben Wheatly), Aly Michalka (Charlotte), Charlie Saxton (Bug), Ryan Donowho (Basher) and Lisa Kudrow (Karen), simply putting the cast is all in all a group of well crafted artists.

The Bottom Line : Rated PG for thematics and mild language , its a movie which does not require much intelligence from the spectator side. Bringing together a new cast , which has moreover done a great job ruling out the absence of being much experienced. It’s fun to watch and you wont feel robbed of time when coming out of the theatre.

Rating: a three of five star rating, is in here now all ready to rock and bang your world, book the tickets today to actually experience the BANDSLAM in real.
